www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmHhPvsfYuU Turpinājums! Noskataties pirms cepjaties bezjēgā! Viņa attieksme pret Latviju ir pozitīva! In December 2004, it was announced that Ferguson would be the successor to Craig Kilborn on CBS's The Late Late Show. His first show as the regular host aired on 3 January 2005. By May 2008, Ben Alba, an American television historian and an authority on U.S. talk shows, said Ferguson "has already made his mark, taking the TV monologue to new levels with an underlying story. But he is only just starting ... He is making up his own rules: It's the immigrant experience." The Late Late Show averaged 2.0 million viewers in its 2007 season, compared with 2.5 million for Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In April 2008, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson beat Late N...
We visited Latvia once before more than a decade ago. Now we've returned to the tiny republic in north-eastern Europe, met the people we talked to before and asked them how they've been getting along. We talk to the manager of a brick factory in Cēsis, a worker on an organic farm in Renda, and a former student who has since found a job in Kuldīga. They are many voices in one small country.

Tonight, however, he undertakes a slower, more personal journey: back to the Baltics, to find out the truth about his late grandfather Walter Kidals. How did Walter make it from German-occupied Latvia to postwar Hull to marry Martin’s grandmother? The story involves stirring feats of Boy’s Own derring-do, including audacious prison camp escapes, that put even Martin’s own adventures in the shade.
Tucked away in a corner of Riga, Latvia is one of the most impressive collections of old Soviet planes and helicopters found anywhere in the world. The largest Soviet military plane collection outside the Russian Commonwealth is, surprisingly enough, in Riga, Latvia. The collection has been brought together over last 40 years and the owner, 76-year-old Viktor Talpas, has no plans to stop. For any plane enthusiast, this is paradise. This aviation museum on the outskirts of Riga holds one of the world’s largest collections of old Soviet aircraft. The collection was put together by former aircraft engineer Viktor Talpas. --SOUNDBITE (RUSSIAN with English subtitles)— Viktor Talpas, Owner, Riga Aviation Museum) “In the beginning, we were given scrap metal and later received the first plane. 34 Latvian soldiers, members of Operational Mentor and Liaison Team, fulfilled their service duties in Eastern Afghanistan, Kunar Province, just few kilometers from the Pakistan border. Along with 11 U.S. Michigan National Guard soldiers they trained senior staff and soldiers of Afghan National Army Unit and were located in places the Unit carried out its combat tasks. In December 2009 Latvian Television (LTV) News Service journalist Zane Peneze and operator Girts Straustins got an insight into soldiers' daily life. "It is not an easy duty. The Afghan battalion, the Latvian soldiers trained, was established just recently and had almost no combat experience. In the mountainous terrain a real war took place and it was not just a peacekeeping mission. Latvian soldiers often had to tra...
CBS Studios has signed a deal for a local-language reboot of "I Love Lucy," in Latvia. The Lucille Ball sitcom has been off the air in the US almost 60 years, but Latvian fans will now have their own version. The Baltic market version of the show will be called "Darling Monika" and will run this September for 10 episodes on Latvian network LNT. However, this isn't the first time Lucy vacationed to the Baltics. This new "Darling Monika" is actually a reboot of the same show made 16 years ago, with the same cast. An MTG-TV PR manager in Latvia said the show is coming back to celebrate LNT's 20th anniversary. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/thr/television/~3/_IWDp5IDz7I/story01.htm http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by Wochit using http://wochit.com
